ok, so i got an 04ex cpe. lately i have noticed how noisy the engine is. its not a knocking noise but its almost sounds like the lifters tapping or something. i guess my question would be is this common? is this just what these poor lil engines sound like or am i in the beginning stages of some serious problems? has anyone experienced something similiar?

i guess if it is something real bad then its not really that bad because i do have an extended warranty through the dealership i work at. also the place i bought my car. anyways, was just wondering and any input will be greatly appreciated.

yup thats what they sound like. its a combination of the injectors pulsing and the coilpacks firing. but i may be wrong. go get a set of feeler guages and take the valve cover off and see if they are within tolerence

Clicking is the injectors. A constant metallic tapping sound is the valve lifters being loose. Its a distinctive difference in noise, but if the car doesnt seem to be acting wierdly, most likely its just the injectors acting like normal.
