Exhaust Hangers?

Well tonight I discovered a new problem. ahh Not a big problem just something
that can get to you.

I noticed that when I rev my car to lets say 1k rpm I hear a a rattle. I told my
friend to put his foot on the muffler to hold it steady and when I revved it to
1k rpm it didn't make the rattling noise.

Is this caused by worn exhaust hangers? I haven't got a good look at it yet due
to being dark outside. I'll take a better look tommorow. If it is the exhaust
hangers I plan on getting these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Unive...QQcmdZViewItem

Well, first did you check the heat shield to verify it is making the noise? If so then you should be able to determine where the rattle is coming from and use the screwdriver to create some additional space between the manifold and the heat shield, or whatever the heatshield is vibrating against.

are you referring to the header heatshield?
or the muffler heatshield?
well the noise is coming from the muffler. i'm guessing it's the exhaust hangers
because they look really loose.
