Rear Driver Side Tire bouncing???

Now when I was driving my car the other day which is a 03 lx coupe...I thought i felt and heard the rear tire bouncing?? Well I had my friend take the car for a drive and I followed him in his car. Well I was right and the rear driver side tire is actually bouncing up and down while driving.....I have no idea why this would be happening...They are brand new tires and the rims looked fine. now my question to you is what would make this happen?? Thank you in advance

miss-balanced wheel.... One of the weights probably fell off, so take it back to the tire shop to get balanced again.

your shock/strut is busted. the spring makes it bounce but the strut deadens the bounce. if the strut fails, then the entire thing will bounce up and down.

agreed. check the suspension for a busted shock. if its leaking or anything and then check your springs.

how bad is the bounce. I agree with zzyzx, sounds more like a statically imbalanced wheel. you can havea tire dynamically imbalanced or statically imbalanced. static imbalance will cause the tire to hop up and down. check the balance of the tire.

could also be a slipped belt inside the tire, especially if you feel the bounce at all speeds, especially slow speed, most times you cant feel an improperly balanced wheel at low speeds, so slow speed bounce is probably a slipped belt, any tire technician should be able to tell. i deal with this type of thing all the time... good luck, if belt is slipped, you should have a fairly large bump on the tread of the tire

jack the car up. if you kick the tire downward and it bounces or if you can move it in any direction with your hands then the shock is busted

i am also leaning toward the slipped or broken belt...i've seen unbalanced tires wobble or vibrate (felt at the steering wheel, more severe if it's a front tire) likewise, look for a bump on the tire tread or sidewall.

its probably either a seperated tire, unbalanced whell, bent rim, out of round tire, or bad shocks, go back tot he place where u bought the tires, and heve them check for speration or bent wheels, they will usually do this free, if it is either of these,t hen they will usually replace the tire for free.
