ok this started to happen about yesterday when i was driving to a location. i was at the stop sign and i started taking off, M/T, in 1st gear and i step on it till about 4000 rpm because the injen sri sounds cool, anyways, right before i shifted into 2nd it made a loud poping noise i thought i ran over a bottle but i didnt. then today it did it again when i was in 2nd gear i was going in and out of the gas pedal in between 2500-3000 rpm and make a loud pop noise again.

what can cause this loud pop noise?

well if it were a backfire it would be the result of a lean condition where the mixture of air and fuel leans out enough to where is fails to ignite consistently. This, in turn allows some un-burnt fuel to get into the exhaust pipes. Then when the engine does fire, these un-burnt gasses are ignited in the exhaust pipe, causing the backfire so if you really want to be sure that it is a backfire rev your engine and then let off the gas and more often than not the car will backfire

well my car is all stock except a Injen SRI, someone told me that it could be the timing is off because it goes back into the intake and makes a pop sound,said i should retard my timing. The sound is coming from the engine bay and i dont think its from the stock exhaust?

But could this it?^^

its just an injen sri so timing cant be the issue. i backfire all the time in my car but im turbo'd nothin wrong with it. are you trigger happy with your car? sounds like it. maybe you have a bent valve leaking fuel into the exhaust system. how many miles on the car?

58,2?? miles on it. i put on the intake when it had 55,000 miles on it. yeah i was pedal happy with the car for a while like going in and out of the gas pedal like in 1st and 2nd but only for a while wasnt a everyday thing.
