Red face Serious Oil Issues

hey guys i really need someones help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok heres my issue....
I have an oil system problem if you coudlnt tell from the thread topic, My problem is that for the past 4-6 oil changes i have been changing my oil every 1000 miles or so. Ok, my dip stick reads empty, but the last time i checked it read empty, so human instinct told me to put oil in it, so i went and bought 4 quarts of synthentic in it, so then i drove it and it was really bogged down and puffing out white smoke bad..., so i figured it had way to much oil, so i brought it home, went back to autozone, and bought 5 qts of Quaker State synthetic, and a new K&N oil filter, becuase i like to think i take car of my car by doing that, so i come home and do a complete oil and filter change.... So that was at milage 66,260, im now at 67,230, and completly empty again. Now i took it to honda two oil changes ago and told them what the hell was going on, and they put a dye in my oil system and didnt find any leaks around the engine or exhaust i guess.

So i was wondering if anyone has had any of the same issues with their civic???

i know it shouldnt matter but i have an AEM short ram intake, ebay no-name mid pipe and cat, stock cat-back exhuast cause i have been to lazy and keep spend my exhuast money on freaking oil changes! I have an A/F gauge tapped into my o2 sensor which i think is shot because my CEL keeps coming on and going off..

I just changed the spark plugs also if that matter which im sure it dont but hey i have no freaking clue what is going on so...

Some have told me that the VTEC consumes alot of oil???????

My dad told me to go get a compression test done, but im broke so...

Any input would help, and also i have black powdery build up on my back bumper where the exhuast tip is if that makes a difference, hasnt done that since i have had oil problems.

you're burning oil like a madman.

fried piston rings?

more info? .... have u ever overrevved the engine? ... do you park on a hill? ... do you race at all ? ... how often did you used to check your oil levels [before this happened] ?

btw, overflowing your oil pan is also BAD.

i dont park on a hill, i over rev the motor every now and agian but dont mean to but who does... race.. every once in a while but not more than like 1-2 times a month. i always check the oil levels like atleast once a week, this all started with on time i was getting on the interestate and just checked my dip stick, and it read lik 3/4 full so i wnet out of town, as soon as i got on the on ramp it wouldnt let me run above 4000 rpm, safe mode i guess???

if your oil levels get too low, you won't be able to go over 4k rpms. but that happens when it gets really low ... like below the lowest point... in which case, it wouldn't read 3/4 full ...

if you've over revved the motor more than a couple times, then that's probably the cause of the problem. especially if you've gone really far.

from what I understand, it can cause boatloads of problems ... anything really ... busted rods, dropping/bending/broken valves, damaged piston rings, etc ... but the piston rings would lead to burning oil, especially if they were in really bad shape.

OK systematic!
Run the car till you say its empty( 1k?)
Drain the oil and measure whats left.

I have a great feeling that your not really loosing oil, just a bad reading!

You put in 4 Qts that time, to full or just put them in?

Thats what i was wondering. Did you put four quarts of oil in your engine because there was no reading on the dipstick???? If so you might of had up to 7 quarts in your engine.

overfilling the pan will blow head gaskets, sometime on sythnetic oil or new oil it is sometime really hard to see. make sure to look at the back of the dipstick or even use a flashlight to see the oil and also try th how many quarts are coming out trick.

You are puffing white smoke out of your exhaust? You definetly have a problem with the motor. Could be anything from headgasket to damaged internals.
