Question Slipping clutch when cold

Hey I just had a question about my clutch. When I start out driving, it seems like it is very hard to shift smoothly until the car has warmed up. Sometimes it is so bad it feels like the clutch is jerking or slipping. It seems to go away once the car is warmed up, and seems worse in the winter. Also, when I am driving in second gear, the shifter gives alot of feedback and kinda feels like it might pop out. Seems like this gear only. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

oh yeah, its a 2004 LX Manual (obliviously!)

same thing here man, two or three stop lights later and its smooth again. i already made a thread on this a while back. also on cold days it feels like its a hard start for the engine, not necessarily a longer turn over time, it just feels like it shudders alot b4 beginning its climb to normal rpm range. *shrugs* 05 5-speed SE
as long as my tranny blows out b4 100,000km i'll be ok with it heh.

I have the same issue with my '04. The clutch chatters on cold or damp mornings and then is fine once it warms up. I suspect the issue is the clutch disc itself. It seems to absorb moisture which causes it to chatter. Once you heat it up and drive the moisture out it works fine. I don't think it's an issue with the tranny itself.

Its not a problem. Every stick car does this when its not up at operating temp. Most of the time a problem with a Honda M/T will be user error

Sorry, but that is a ridiculous statement. I've driven stick shifts of various types and vehicles for over 35 years. This is the first time I've encountered this. It's a problem with the Honda clutch, not a user error.

Ive driven my 89 toyota truck, 95 corolla, 2002 civic and 2003 S2000 and they all have done it. I have also driven a 2000 Nissan frontier and it did it also. I dont see it as a problem. Im sure its just cause the clutch is cold. Maybe try driving/shifting a little slower till its warm.
