air box(es)
its an air resonator, it "resonates" the air making the air frequencies do stuff to become quieter, it just makes the car quieter, and it brings air up from the cooler areas ( low to the ground and in the fender ). It may serve another purpose but im not sure what that is, mine is removed and it runs fine, my brothers is removed and it runs fine, i have an aem now and it still runs fine with out it there.

If you take it off, your car may be louder, but not necessarily in a good way. You may gain like .25 HP. If you're gonna do all that, get a K&N drop in air filter. IMO, intake is the best way to go. Many people seem to do just fine with ebay intakes, the biggest issue there is some intakes not fitting right, rather than not lasting long. I bought a brand new AEM short ram intake, with the dry-flow filter off ebay for $100 shipped. That's really not a bad price. If this is your only engine mod, i definitely wouldn't bother with the V2, or any of these other $200+ intakes. Or, you could just leave everything the way it is. The best thing you can do for any air intake is change the filter regularly.
^^ i wanna pick up that dry flow filter too but its not cheap to order from ebay and send it to canada. im sick of this oil one i have.
on a side note to ambulancemonkee, im a paramedic too, in sydney, ns. cheers.

Good to see another medic on here. Nice name, btw. As far getting it sent to Canada, I just looked at AEM's website, seems they have dealers in Canada. Goto www.aempower.com, use the dealer locator function for international/export. Looks like they have a few dealers in Canada, that you can order online from. For some reason, the sites aren't coming up for me, so I have no idea what their prices are like, but you'd prolly save on shipping, with them already being in Canada. Let me know if that works for you.
