I've had the same problem the 2k1 owners have had: a thumphing noise when making a turn. I haven't done anything to the car and haven't been abusing it at all, and I have that problem. I'm bringing it in tomorrow and will let you guys know what happens....
well I've got a 2k2 LX and ive brought it into honda for a few things... nothing serious, just things that I don't believe should be happening in a brand new car...
first thing is - there's a very strong burning brakes smell that every time i finish driving my car i smell it... from the rear/psngr wheel well. honda raplaced the rear brake assembly but it didn't fix the problem lol... so i dunno what im gonna do
the other thing is - interior rattles... driving me nuts - reminds me of my 89 mazda. This isnt something a new car should do.
Neither of these are things which make me question my civic - I still love it and am thankful i havent had problems (like my friends 2001 JEEP) which leave me stranded in a parking lot with a car that wont start... hehehehe thats just not a honda thing to do

Congrats! I just got mine too! The only problems I can think of would be related to me. First I think I burned the clutch. Then I changed my clutch habit and stalled the car the day I got it. I think I forgot to release the parking brake when I drove from in front of the house to the garage. MY POOR BABY!!!
I'm used to it now so it's all good. I won't mistreat it any more!!! PROMISE!

I thought it had a fuel consumption problem but it cleared up after the first oil change and once in a while it takes 2 trys to get it started but i think it just needs to be broken in a little more 3590 miles
whoa we got the same color, same model, same year, same spoiler
and guess what? im installin fog lights this weekend too
its a nice car got potential
though the engine needs a swappin!

yeah the engine is kinda weak, really wish there was more power. But what lacks in power is made up by looks!!
i wouldn't consider doing an engine swap until the warrenty is up though.

<< I have had my k2 sedan a little over a month and logged 1600 miles. No problems. >>
Scratch that! My sunroof has started rattling and it's driving me **** nuts!
And I think some noise is developing under the steering column somewhere but not positive yet. Jan. 15 - Silver EX Coupe auto: no mods yet - 5200 miles... My baby runs sweet. I just named her - JESSICA, not Jess or Jessie... Jessica.
Anyhow, other than my daily "Shock Therapy" situation, the only problems I have are not wanting to drive her 24 hours a day and keeping her exterior clean. Her first night home I stood in the driveway and stared at her.
I would like a remote trunk release... Anyone know something for that?

I didn't opt for the spoiler like I did with my previous '97 Civic Si Coupe... and '00 Honda Prelude. The 7th Generation looks better than the tacky OEM spoiler, at least from the from front 3/4, side, and rear 3/4... directly from the back it looks okay.
Additionally, I've seen recently the body kit (Canadian spec models) for the coupe. Looks okay on black... but silver (my current colour) looks extremely tacky. All the plastic panels (front, side, rear) are grafted on the existing molding and have about 2-3 millimeter gap, which really shows. And overall looks like a home-made kit. I would have preferred them using completely new front/rear and side panels... but that would have cost Honda money for new tooling, which probably couldn't justify the low volumes.

I love my 2k2, I've got a silver LX coupe 5-sp, 3100 mi...no problems yet....I love the look of the car...the styling is so smooth looking....The engine isn't as weak as I thought it would be...I thought my little brothers MKII VW GTi would kill my civic off the line but the civic actually held on and pulled away after 3rd gear....hehehehe...I love my baby..

it would be great if my gas mileage got better after the first oil change, i got 39.47mpg last tank, and 38.97, 38.65 and 38.75 before that
im at 4500 miles now, just 500 more before i have to get my first oil change

However my 2k1 Civic has been a nightmare. I've owned it six months and in that time: the entire rear suspension was redone, some valve needed replacing twice and now the clutch is gone at 9000 miles.
This wasnt what I expected from a Honda.

welp, i've had mine since the end of Nov (and it is a 2k2), just at 6229 miles (some trips up to madison, wi to see my gf, and driving to work daily).. no probs so far.. just dropped it this weekend, waiting on the camber kit, i guess my only complaints are the cat is a lil too low, they shoulda allowed camber adjustment stock, and the lack of major aftermarket power adjustment (read: sc)..
