2 prob:bad sumthin+radio
yea ok well heres my situtation is nothing bad but sumthin im worried about. i got a volt gauge installed in my car a long time ago. my car situation my battery died too about month and a hlf ago so i jumped it drove it from bay area to la about 400+ mile with no problems. and week ago my maint req light blinks 10 times when i start the car then stops .looked in the forum and saw it was for my iat. i checked my iat senor wiring and looks good so i reseted it. my problem is i start the car it goes to close to 14 volt about 13.7 so i drive and when i accelerate the guage reading drops to 12 and it stays at 12 untill i let off the gas. then it goes back to 13.8 or something close to 14. no check engine and not mant req light, is sumthing wrong with my alt.
my second problem is really annoying. my stock radio stations are very fuzzy sometimes (i drove in the same area with a older corrolla and the radio is crystal clear). i think it happened after the window tint went on. how can i fix this. ive read the link on tint and that radio interference can be due to lead in the tint or a rip in the antenna on the rear window. i dont see any rips and i dont think the tint has lead so what is wrong. how can i diagnose this prob. or fix it

If your srs light or abs, brake lights start to come on you know there is a problem with your alt. Possibly a load sensor under the engine fuse box went bad, check this with your volt reader. As for the radio take it out and check to see if it is pluged in all the way!! Our stock radio, antenna is crap ive noticed too. Never got good reception till i got a new touchscreen with digital tuner!! Dont be suprised if the alt is bad (overcharging), and if you still have a warrenty take that **** in!!

I had a volt meter for a while and noticed the voltage was all over the place. (14 is not too high) Someone said it was due to the ELD operating and for fuel economy.
I noticed with a load like lights / fan the voltage would stay higher longer, but would still drop (which BTW really sucks when running the wipers) It seems to just come and go and not really a pattern.
My stock radio lasted only about 2 weeks. (XM subscription) It did not perform well on FM at all.

voltage is supposed to be all over the place. the ELD likes to shut it off if there is no extra load drawing power. normal. as for the radio, tint doesn't affect reception. maybe you forgot to install the power antenna lead to your deck? or the antenna plug itself is loose. also not all decks have good tuners. my pioneer was always fuzzy where my apline now is like cd quality. it also depends on locations. you get better reception in farmland with no tall buildings than you do in crowded city. if you really have problems, may want to look into doing a civic hybrid antenna system conversion.

ok so the needle on the gauge starts at 14 then it drops to 12 when im driving and when i let go i goes to 14 for 2-3 sec then drops to 12 and sometimes it stays at 12 especially when i have my headlight on weird.
and for the antenna i sure i connected all the things in the back it triple checked it. ill have to check the connection in the c pillars.
