Bleeing the clutch

I cant get my clutch to bleed. It never builds pressure. I need some real good advice about how to do this. What about speed bleeders?

01 Civic
5Spd
Coupe

*** I noticed the spelling error.

has no one bled a clutch before.

One guy pushes clutch, one guy works the bleeder (under the hood, in front of the tranny). You can't push the pedal all the way down, and you need to manually pull it back up. Add brake fluid to the reservoir as you go so it doesn't run dry.

It takes awhile to bleed the clutch. there isnt much pressure. Just keep doing it, other members on here have run into the same problem and will tell you it takes awhile.

Ok, while bleeding the clutch can I leave the top of the resevoir, If all efforts fail should I swap the slave cylinder and try again. I have a spare one since i got a junkyard tranny. What about speed bleeders? I am going to go try and get one today from a autostore.

I just went and bought a mityvac for 40 bucks and got some pressure in the clutch.

Side question, what is the transmission fluid for a 5spd. Autozone and pep-boys said 10w30 or 10w40 but I am afraid to dump that in.

Then what fluid should it be? Do I have to go to the dealer?

no dont have to go to the dealer. manaul says API service sg, sh, or sj grade motor oil. Probably can use mobil 1 10w-30. but it also says use these if honda MTF isnt available. I would use honda MTF if I were you. ask others who have a MT what they use.

The new trans with royal purple works great. And I think the clutch I put in has weaker springs so it feels weird. But I got pressure and it runs well. I just need to tighten up the suspension stuff. Saved 2k dollars.
