Gauge Cluster Help me I'm falling.
Gauge Cluster Help me I'm falling.
I opened up my instrument cluster and put tape over the SRS light.. 3 days later, I now have to tap my instrument cluster with force just to get the speedo to work and for all the numbers to light up at night. Anyone know what might be wrong? I didn't mess with anything other than putting a piece of tin-foil tape over that little SRS light bulb. Also, I was wondering if I can swap the cluster with an automatic transmission Civic cluster even though my car is a 5-speed. I don't mind that there will be P123 on my dash, I just would like to know how fast I am going without having to punch my gauge, kind of looks ghetto, especially when I am in traffic next to really hot people. I have a 2001 Civic LX 5-speed.

well with a 2001, it doesn't matter. those are pretty hard to break unless its an internal defect. and yea you can swap in any 01-02 manual/auto cluster. oh and the mileage will become whats on the new cluster.
I have the same problem anytime I work on the interior lighting in my car. Or something similar, at least. It seems the little bulbs (and yes, they're bulbs, not LEDs) that are everywhere in the car have trouble whenever they're removed and replaced.
