It looks like a 6pt wrench should still fit over that, although its hard to tell. Could also try vise grips. And depending on how desperate you are, just hammer a socket on, and try to get it off like that, or go to a shop, pay em $5 to weld a socket on, and you can get it off that way.

I'm not sure if the bolts come with the new install. If so u could always grind the bolt off with a cutting disk right below the nut.

no do not cut the bolt!!!!!!!!!!!! i have that craftsman set. i had to use it to get the lugs off on my teg that the dealer didnt have the key for when i bought it. use an open end/close end wrench to turn the nut off and you will have to hammer it on. so you may need a cocket to help with that. but they work good and accomplished what i needed them to!!

If your new kit comes with the bolts that slide in the holes, you don't have to worry about cutting it.

if you actually read his post you would see that he isnt installing a "new" set of struts but installing a trq dampner. so he isnt replacing anything. he just needs to loosen the nut and install the trq dampner. so your idea is useless because you didnt read LOL!!!

hey guys the craftsman bolt out kit in a sense is the saem type of thing. except it is designed to grab on to stripped bolts. they arent too expensive and will come in handy a lot after you have them. its well worth the money to invest in a set

Go buy a cheap one at auto zone. And a new nut. Only cost ya like 8 to 10 bucks. Better than paying someone to do it for you.

same thing happened to mine, I used a triangle file and sat there for about a hour trying to fix the threads. It worked for me.
