When AC goes on, HIDS Flicker!

Hey guys,

I have had my HID's for about 2 years with no problem what so ever. But now, when I turn my HID's on, then turn the AC on, my left headlight flickers then turns off.

Do I need to change the battery? Or what's going on?

There is a voltage drop from the condensor fan kicking on. Check the grounds for your HID's. A new battery might be in order, or an alternator. Try the battery first.

Good Luck

Weird tho ... dont you think that cause the HID's draw less Wattage (around 35 watts) than the stock (regular 55W) ...
How is the wiring kit on the HID side ? For instance, the only ground I have is a main ground to the battery. I have the McColough kit

there is an easier solution, just get a bigger ground cable for the negative side of the battery, i had to cuz every time my subs hit, my lights dim, but i got a 0 gauge ground cable, and it solved my problem

let me guess, you DONT have an upgrade wire harness for the hid ballast do you. you think those tiny stock wire can support that much power draw? its like a small explosion when you first turn on the headlight and the ballast sucks up power. after they're on, yea its only 37watt. sounds like another case of bad wiring.

Uhh no..

keep in mind that the converter maybe more sensitive to voltage changes than a traditional lightbulb which would just dim.

good luck

when i had those pnp hid that you just plug in, i never had dimming problems like i did with halogen. they only draw 1/2 as much wattage once warmed up. but i had an upgrade wire harness for them too.

I have the wiring kit that the my HID's came with, they draw from the car's original H4 connector - stock car wiring and everything for me is fine.

Gearbox is right, I dont get any dimming with my sub, with the HID conversion, unlike with my halogens.
