Anyone had their CD door pop off yet?
My CD storage door (the one under the radio tuner on CIVIC's with only CD players installed) has just popped off. looks like a busted spring. Does anyone know an easy fix? I really don't wanna deal with going to dealer to find out they need to order a part and it'll be another day and I'm rideless for two days.
do you really have all these problems or are you just making crap up because you need more abuse than you're already getting in the other forums?

Look, I'm on this page because I have "VEHICLE/ISSUES PROBLEMS". I'm sure you love your CIVIC and it's just wonderful to you and it is the "coolest' car ever. But if you think this site was put up just to discuss was the lastest "CAT-BACK' add on is then you're crazy. You wanna be a fanboy, that's fine - go to the "General Ramblings" page. Why are you on this page anyway? If it's your sole purpose in life to run around and remember who's doing what on a Internet Forum - I think that's very sad.
I am presently filing for arbitration through the LEMON LAW.
Since you asked though here are the problems I have experienced so far:
Seat rocking: Attempted to have it fixed 4 times.
Car horn defect
Air Bag sensor malfunction
and like I said faulty CD DOOR.
And by the way RONIN? haven't you heard enough by now????

Ok, all joking aside, I really do feel bad for anybody who has had problems with their cars, including you nycivic - seriously. I've had problems with my Civic too.
But it's one thing to post your problems in this forum and ask for people's advice......... and something else completely when you go around starting several threads about petitioning Honda, and about how Civics are overrated, and keep whining about what a POS it is. In such a case, you are not going to be taken seriously and won't get much help, and you're just begging for other members to rip into you.
Look, if you're not satisfied, then you're doing the right thing going through the lemon law. I wish you luck with that. Believe it or not, most people here would support you in your action, and would do the same thing if they were in your position.
But like I said, the way you've brought up your problems has pissed off others here on this site, and so it's hard for them to take you seriously now.

My CD door came off too. It just came off one day, seems like it was a problem with the spring mechanism. The dealer fixed it with a new "beefier" door and now it works great. The only bad thing was that the dumbass tech scraped and gouged up our dash panel and didn't tell us, hoping I wouldn't notice. I did. The dealership gave me a rental car for three days and fired the tech on the spot. Anyhow... the door works and looks great now.

Hey NYCIVIC! Try this web-page for honda parts. The parts are genuine Honda parts for your Civic.
They are much cheaper than the dealer and you can order them over the internet.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, the horn feels like the pitch changes. Goes from a honk to a squeal. people in my car are like, "what's up with your horn? It sound's like it's dying." feels to me like it's straining for power. If that makes any sense. there are times when it's fine and then there are times when it isn't. I think it has something to do with the battery maybe. I think when there are a lot of things on at the same time is when it happens i.e. stereo, a/c, lights and fog lights.
EDIT: There is a recall on the rocking seat and hopefully if you bring it to the dealer they'll fix the issue for you as they should. They "claim" to have it fixed for me but it still feels loose, I brought it in 3 times and now they're refusing to fix it. I think I may have a lemon and right now I am dealing with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I don't know what lemon laws are like in CANADA but around here they're all pretty much: 4 unsucessful repair atempts made = lemon. It's interesting that you have so many of the SAME problems as I. There must be a whole bad batch of these cars out there.

from what ive heard (never had any experience with it personally) its better to get a lawyer for a lemon, if you go through the BBB theyll do arbitration and you wont get much of anything
As a matter of fact, YES, my CD storage door broke yesterday, the spring seem to come out, I dont know if it broke or what. Glad to know yours did too....I will take it to the dealer Soon..Thanks for the INFO...
Yep my storage door also broke at the hinge/spring on the passenger side . To be replaced when i go in for first major service in 2-3 months time . It still opens and closes , and at time you have to give it a little tap to sit perfectly straight. A very poor design that even those at Honda agree was a design flop .
