Key is hard to turn

I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX and it seems to be almost impossible to turn any of the keys in the ignition. Is there a product out there that can remedy this problem, or od I need a new ignition?

get some compressed air and blow it in. mine is getting hard to turn sometimes too but usually is fine. are you sure you dont just have the wheel lock on? just jiggle the wheel while turning key.

it could also be a problem with the shifter lockout. sometimes the mechanism breaks, and the car thinks you're in drive instead of park, if you have auto trans that is...

this blows. it got warm today, and was very hard to turn from off to acc position. I had to keep trying and pushing in before it finally went. So stupid me sprayed pb blast inside and well it cleaned it out real nice but after 100x of sticking my key in and out, i get a nice dirty oil film on my key. great, and its still not turning altho its a bit better. new key didn't help. stupid ignition.

My key is hard turn also. Notice it when it's warm. If you push the key inwards and turn it's easier. I noticed it's hard to turn it on/off to/from acc. Maybe I should try some graphite or silicon spray?

silicon is more for rubbers not metal. i think its the actual lock mechanism going bad and not just a lube issue. ya now i have to push in while turning otherwise it wont turn. never used to have to do that tho before.
