Rough Idle just appeared
Hi everyone
I have a couple of issuse with my 2000 civic se with an idle problem and (engine light on), the car can be in park or in gear with foot on the brake it'll idle up and down. Now when you give it gas it'll smooth out and run like a charm. I've taken it to a Honda dealer north toronto near me and they can't seem to find the problem. They said they did a computer scan and nothing showed up now they say they have to phone honda canada tech and ask them. Now at the sametime I have an exhaust leak from the "B" pipe they say (just infront of the resonator pipe) but that couldn't cause the problem they told me.
Now I was wondering their wrong and it could cause the problem or if not has anyone eles experienced this or could help me out.
Now all this just happed while the wife was driving to work.

I've had a similar problem today. I started the engine and after 5 seconds the idle was rough and too high (1400) and the engine light came on. Nevertheless, when accelarating, the car performed o.k. I took it to the garage and they read the Error code: i think it was P1519 - Intake manifold runner control stuck closed (? is this idle air control valve ? ) They deleted the message and the engine runs normal. I hope it does not appear again.
Anyone with the same problem ? How you solved it ?

Thanks for the reply I just talk to honda and they said they scaned it again and it showed up multiple miss fire and rec I do a complete tune up(only a year old). I'll picking up the car tonight and i'll check the iac maybe clean it or something the car has 145000km. gezzzz

My crx use to do that.
I'd clean the filter and it would run smooth.
And if it persistsed, I'd check the plugs and clean or replace them.
