sputtering civic

Angry sputtering civic

my civic is sputtering like crazy.. the timeing is good the #1 piston is up @ TDC it set for 4 months... i ran it for like 24 hrs.. to get all the bad gas out.. put 97 in and a octane booster still runs ruff. my tack doen't work and it is shooting out carbon deposits from the exhaust and ideas what this can be?

Ignition related. Probably a fouled plug or four. Spend about $80 and get plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc... Or start with just plugs.

what year is your ride.

More info would help.

Your user profile had no car information to work with.

I'd do a tune up if you haven't before.

Just check/maybe change the air filter and plugs.

And while you are changing those disconnect the battery.

This why, when your done with the replacement/cleaned filter and new plugs, the ride's ecu will have to adjust the air/fuel ratio's

Right, that's what I thought. I'm guessing your combustion is uneven.
