I don't know if this is where my question should be posted but here goes....

So, I had my Civic tinted back in December, a shop was running a special to have the back three tinted for $100 (which is the cheapest a person can get in my area). From the outside when looking at the back dead on from a distance it looks blue. Is this common or did they just use cheap tint, I don't have much experience with tint so...

Well, you can notice it for sure when you look from the inside, EVERYTHING is blue but that doesn't bother me. Shouldn't 5% look black no matter what angle/lighting/etc....maybe it's just me....

well yea it depends on the tint always. did you even ask what they used, or was it just pepboys brand lol

Cheap tint often will turn purple. Don't ask me how I know....

I think it's probably just bad tint. I've noticed with cheaper brands, they're not black. Even right out of the box, they're a blue-purpleish color. Ask the shop what type of tint they used. They offer a warranty on the tint. If you're unhappy and it's a reputable shop, they should redo it for you.

I think I'm just gonna take it to a different shop and have them retint it. I want the front darker anyway so...
