Injen intake broke!!! need advice

the metal prongs that attach to the mount midway down the pipe snapped. I noticed a sound akin to baseball cards in bicycle spokes when i'd rev in gear, everything else checked out, until i gently pushed the intake. Well, going tomorrow to nopi to get a new one, dunno what brand i will get. Needless to say, i'm bumming a ride in the H2, the civic doesn't need to be taking chances.

Anybody else have problem like this? Lemme know. I think my friend left off a rubber bushing on the mounting point, i'm not sure. When i was looking in a catalog, i noticed that piece which is curiously absent from my car. Oh well. It made it about 40k miles, so not bad.

not really v2 uses sound waves (ie. nothing), and wr uses physics.

sound waves......... nothing....... that doesnt quite make sense. I'm sure you may have tried this, turn up speaker or sub and place hand near it. Notice air "movement".

I know....... I am no physicist or engineer, but I believe AEM V2 has something to do with air resonance..... gimmick or not, I enjoyed my V2.
I have seen this before:

which makes sense too....

Personally, I think all intakes for the d17 are a gimmick, but that is my opinion.

^^^ I agree to a certain degree..... I feel any 4 cylinder engine designed for economy will not gain much from intake

I know this is off topic, but Gearbox, have you noticed any difference in MPG with different intakes?

When I first had aem sri, i got 3mpg extra that went away when i put stock back on. With the K&N both times mileage stayed the same. Haven't tested weapon-r to see anything. maybe in a few weeks when I drive highway miles again.

They're all the same thing, a filter on an aluminum stick. The thing breaks because aluminum fatigues from vibration. They all break because none of them really dampen all the vibration out and evidently the welds are ****.
Easiest solution... leave it alone. It does nothing anyways.
