Clutch Friction Point Changing

Hey guys the friction point with my clutch is acting a little weird. A couple of days ago my friction point dropped about .5-1" lower and now it seems like its back to its normal position. What would cause this? Note: there is nothing stuck behind the clutch pedal.

check your clutch fluid level. And also check to make sure you do not have any sort of leaks in the clutch lines.

If both of those are negative, bleed your slave cylinder. You may have somehow got an air bubble in the line somewhere.

The clutch fluid is the little one by the brake fluid right? But all my fluids look normal.

How do I bleed the slave cylinder, I havent done much with cars to know.

Also, if there is some how that there is air in the line somewhere, would that cause the stiffness of the clutch pedal to feel softer sometimes? It feels that after everytime my brother drives my car, my clutch pedal seems to be softer and at the same time feels that when the clutch fully released/catches is not as strong or not with as much pressure than normal.

well, an air bubble in the line will make the pedal softer. If it is bad enough, the pedal may stay stuck at the floor.

The bleeder is the little shiny nipple on the slave cylinder. It is the thing about 5" below and 2" to the left of the header. It is just below where it says D17A_ on the motor.

To bleed it, you need a piece of 5/32" vaccum line, a small crescent wrench (or wrench that fits it), a can or bottle, and a friend.

First... slide one side of the vaccum line over the nipple, then the other side into the bottle/can.

then you crack the bleeder open, and have your friend push down on the clutch pedal, and hold it down.

With the clutch pedal pressed all the way down, close the bleeder. When it is fully closed, have him release the pedal and bring up all the way back up to the top.

Then repeat 10-20 times. Check your fluid level (you are right, it is the small one) and fill it when needed.

When the fluid is low do I just dump the fluid that I drained out back into it or do I use new fluid? And when opening the bleeder, should the other person press on the clutch immediately? Just making sure.

use new fluid.

And they dont need to do it instantly. But within a few seconds.
