driving problem...need help plsssss.
right now i have no idea what is wrong...everytime i drive at high speeds the steering wheel vibrates but not all the time (its weird)...i rotated my tires, balanced all 4 tires to 0 (made sure it was on the dot), and did an alignment...there is nothing else i can think of that could be the problem...does anyone know what could it be?...TIA

well it could be bent and you wouldn't be able to see it. its not always obvious. but if its only shaking at certain speeds, its a balance issue. the weights like to fall off it seems on bad roads. i need to rebalance mine every few months especially if i drive upto chicago and drive on those crap roads.

make sure the shop knows how to do it. some places have no clue and it doesn't fix the problem. there is also a special way to do alloy wheels called an alloy balance.

yup unevenly worn tires will vibrate. my firestones were terrible around 20k that i finally had to dump em. tread was almost gone too.
i dont think rotors can cause can vibrations. i had mine on my car for about 50,000 miles and then i got them changed with the breaks.....never had a problem with any vibration. well i take that back. slamming your car can give alota suspention problems.

Well the first time I had the tires rotated that is when the vibration started. So then I had it balanced same problem balanced again same problem again. They test drive the car and tell me that my vibration was from the rotor while braking duh I know that. I was then told that if they rebalance it again that I would be charged BUll*&%&%. Those guys told me that the rotor can couse vibration while driving bull%#&* again. I think it might be in the tires and they don't want to fess up to it. The tires I purchased from them were bridgestone turanza el400's back in Sept 05, tire size is 195/60/15.
A vibration can be caused for a lot of things. Check the tires. If you don't know much about cars, take it to a shop to check your entire suspension components; all the suspension components can cause vibration.
Rise the front of the vehicle and stand on jacks, move fast the tires side-to-side and up-and-down, if you see an abnnormal movement or hear a noise maybe it could be the bearings or steering linkages.
Check all the bushings, ball joints, the weight balance of the driver side axles, brake rotors, steering linkages, etc. Also check the rear parts.
