HELP! My engine is smoking a little after I park...

is that normal? I live in the NYC, and right now its about 25degrees. Anywho I parked up just now, and as I was listening to my music with the engine off, I noticed that smoke was coming from the hood of my car, so I pop the hood and I noticed that their was little smoke coming from my engine. My first guess is that maybe its because its freezing up here so its normal, but I'd rather ask then assume. Any help will be grateful.

btw, I have a 02 Civic EX if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

so is this the first time it has happened? do you notice it happens all the time? it could be many things, but it could also be a one time deal (weather related maybe?) i'll have to say, its not normal for smoke to be comming from the engine block like that. do some looking around, it could be your valve cover gasket. the same thing happened to my old accord.

Thanx for the reply. To be 100 with you. This is prolly the second time I noticed this, usually I just park up, and leave my car without waiting around or looking for that matter. But today just sitting in my car, I seen the smoke and popped the hood immediately, granted I'm not a car fixer but it was impulse. I have my 3month check up at the dealer on friday so I'ma have them check everything out thoroughly. I really was hoping that this was normal, it is pretty cold in NYC right now, so I thought that had something to do with it.

It might, but it could also be a problem. Just have the dealer check everything out, if there is something, they'll more than likely catch it.

what color is the smoke, white? it could just be water vaporizing or something. next time see if it smells like anything burning oil, coolant, etc.
