Annoying brake light...
For the last few days, my brake light indicator has been comming on whenever I stop. I checked the forum and inspected my fluid. It is right at the minimum line. Therefore, I guess i need to add some fluid. My question is:
Do I just add enough to go halfway between the min and max lines or do I fill it all the way up to max?
Do I just add enough to go halfway between the min and max lines or do I fill it all the way up to max?
- Does adding fluid seem like the solution to the brake light problem?
- Can it be caused by worn rear drum brakes, meaning I need to replace the drum brakes?

adding fluid will make the light turn off.
A drop in the brake fluid level is either caused by a leak..(unlikely) or just worn brakes both front and back. , not necessarily worn out maybe just worn. It might be a good idea to check your front pad and rear shoe thicknesses just in case.
Well, I added the fluid and the light is gone. I'll have to monitor the level over the next few weeks and see if it changes. I just recently changed the front pads, but I have never touched the rear brakes. Maybe that's the problem...
