personally, (and I'm sure some will say a stick is more fun to drive, and I would agree) I would say no it is not worth it. For the money you will spend in the conversion, you could easily spend on beefing up the auto and have a very bullit proof tranny. But that's just me, you really need to figure that one out, would you rather srive a manual?

yea you can buy the main internals of the tranny, but unless you have the tools and knowledge of an automatic tranny, I wouldnt touch it. I took apart a 41TE tranny at school, one that comes in alot of dodges and other vehicles, a plain and simple auto tranny and even that was difficult. theres alot of internals components and you need alot of special tools.

best bet, just buy a used one and have someone install it for you.

Specficallyfor 7thgens.... add a cooling system.

You can also carbonize all the internal to harden them, you tighten the torque converter, adjust the shift points to make it more aggresive, make shifts harder or softer (although can be done electronically too), but you can actually do quite a bit, specially with the valve body. I've seen guys run 750 hp blown Chevy big blocks with an auto tranny, I'm guess it wasn't an ordinary tranny. But I know of a few shop that do this kind of work, here is one http://www.levelten.com/ they're pretty good from what I hear.

you take your car to a dealership for service? if so nothing should be wrong.

If you ever have had an outside place replace your tranny fluid.. they force new fluid in. My trannt clicks around the shifter after some bumshop force new fluid into my tranny, I compress the brake and it's gone. Get a levelten kit, I'm gonna look into that other link.

TCI auto tranny rebuild kit

-master racing kit #559100
-auto torque converter upgrade

and you should have a solid tranny. The problem is the defective part that honda and shops know about that is weaker than it should be and accelerates wear. Also after you do those upgrades, get a tranny oil cooler.

Why is your tranny slipping gears? Did you service it correctly and often enough? also did you abuse it? was it driven correctly? did u do flushes?

^ because there is a defective part from the factory that wears down the tranny faster.

because honda doesn't like losing millions of $ for a recall. There is an aftermarket part that replaces stock and is stronger. Most mechanics will know about it but it involves taking apart the transmission.
