takes longer to start up...colder weather perhaps?
Here in Phoenix it's now getting colder (30s-40s at night), and I noticed for the last couple days I have to turn the ignition a bit longer before the car starts. I drive an 05 LX, so this is my first experience with Honda in colder weather. Do they normally take a bit longer to start when the temperature drops? The starter still sounds strong, but it just takes a couple seconds longer before the engine gets going.
Even though I've only had mine since August ('02 EX) we've already had several cold mornings here in MN, and mine has done that also. It always starts, just takes an extra second or two of cranking before it goes.

then there's something wrong. upgrade grounds, battery, make sure plugs are good and tight. Mine takes the same time to start whether its 100F or -10F and i got a leaky head gasket too. and 30-40? I would hardly call that cold.

i don't think there's anything wrong. you drive the car at higher temps, shut it off, then you wake it up at cold temps. couple cranks, ECU figures out what's up, all is good. mine always does this in temp changes, once it adjusts after driving a tad, all is well.

um, i agree with gearbox.
possibilities
1. plugs- check them
2. plug wires- check those
3. dirty injectors- fuel injector cleaner is needed.
battery might be low. alternator might be frying.

we have ignition coils not wires. cold crank around 440 but it says on the battery for sure. these motors are very precise as far as starting up. three turns and vroom should fire right up except in some rare case where there's a glitch or something. are you leaving the car in the ON position before actually starting the engine? if not, the fuel pressure won't be as high and it will take more turns to start.
haha i have the same damn problem. it would start fine couple times but then sometimes it takes a bit longer than usual to start up. i dont know if it could b the battery but that might b the only thing that could b wrong cause i did accidently kill it when i left the headlight on for about 1hr or so.

I would say your battery is starting to die.
But exactly how long is it taking? Are we talking an extra second or 15 seconds?

My '02 civic did a similar thing for a while, slowly getting worse...eventually the battery just died (was a tad odd though considering the battery was only about 2 1/2 years old) ...got a new one...works completely fine now and no issues with cold morning starts. Might wanna check it out like the guys before me suggested

get optima yellowtop. then you can abuse it by listening to radio with car off, leave lights on, and the battery won't be affected like a stock one will. Even one discharge and stock battery will never be able to get full charge.
