first issue with car. dealer response strange?
For about a week i noticed my car has been turning over a little slow. Fially with the colder weather it died. I turned the car and it turned over once then just clicked. Simple battery issue or alt right? Then i see the yellow engine light is on, only after i jump start it. This has never happened before. The dealer scanned the enging and said i need a new crank sensor. I know enough to tell him that cant be the problem because when it runs it runs fine. At my prompting he tested the battery and alt and sure enough the battery was low so he put a new one in. They are ordering the new crank sensor (which i dont think i need) for an install later. I thought the light may have been due to phantom issues regarding the battery. My consern is i have 6k left on my warranty and to put in the sensor they will have to almost pull the motor because its behind the timing cover. Since they are messing with so many connections and stuff im worried they will cause mor issues that may surface after 6k miles. They also left the engine light on. Couldnt they reset that thing?

yeah, check to see if they shut the light off, maybe they did and the crank snesor really is bad and already tripped the light.
It is possible for the crank sensor to be shot but the car runs fine nonetheless.
On my GF's car the ECU falls back on the cam sensor for timing if the crank sensor dies.
maybe it works the same way in the civic.

hondas are differnet^^ the motor runs counter clockwise so its not so easy to rely on the cam sensor. just take it to the dealer and if something goes wrong with it you can take it back and hold them respobsible. if they did wrong warranty don't matter.
