anyone know how to check the timing belt or should i take it in?
just asking since I have heard that thats one vital thing you should have checked on your civic. I have had some trouble locating my owners manual althought i dont remember it saying much about it. FYI its a 2001 LX coupe.
ok found the DIY on changing it on Similar threads. Still want to check it prior to 110,000 miles just to be safe.

ya i just had mine done at 44k but they were swapping the cam gear. i would do it 90k for sure and also get water pump, crank pulley, and both seals.

i have an 01 ex with 92k miles .. so water pump , timing, crank pulley and valve cover gasket and head gasket?
btw can i just replace the crank pulley with an underdrive kit?
im NEW to Honda so i dont know alot ... sorry for the noob question ... lol i know the cavalier tho ... lol i had a few ...

don't get a under drive crank pulley cause it will screw up your car. the gaskets is a personal choice. my dad didn't change his and he has a 95 with 220k miles on it. no leaks. so wait it recommended is water pump and timing belt

no gaskets. they don't pull the head off or the valve cover. you need the cam and crank seals. get a stock crank pulley cause they tend to break around 60k miles. Also, this would be a good time to throw on an adjustable cam gear for later even if you don't think you'll need it. cause you'll have everything off anyway. here's my aem.
