5th gear vibration?

5th gear vibration?
I have a 2003 Civic EX and I have a question to ask.
When I am in 5th gear, the shifter seems to start vibrating when I am at around 3000+ rpms. However it stops when you apply a small amount of force. It feels like the gear is pushing out a few millimeters when it hits around the said RPMs.
Will this wear the gear faster than normal?

I hear this rattle in 5th gear also. I have an 02 civic ex and I was wondering what to do to prevent the rattle? If I barely put pressure on it while driving, it's whisper quiet (which I would love to accomplish). Did you ever get this resolved?
