gauges stopped working

hey guys,

the other day i noticed that my gauges werent lighting up and nothing was working (rpm gauge, mph, gas, mileage, etc). the car ran fine but i didnt know how fast i was going or anything. even at night the radio lights are really dim.

anyone have any ideas how to fix this ? i tried disconnecting the negative on my battery to reset the ecu but it still doesnt work.

im didnt want to be the one to through it out there but,
did you check all the fuses?

err im kinda noobie a dont know which fuse it is. im still under warranty so im thinking about going back to the dealer. do you think they'll give me sh*t cause i have subs ? so they can say that affected my electrical stuff ?

If the subs werent installed properly, you got a problem!
Look in the fuse box cover or manual for the that fuse.

nope no deck. and ive had the subs for over a year so i dont think that could be the problem. but my one friend said maybe the battery is dying and it has to sacrifice some stuff to keep the car running. i dunno if thats a possibility or not

its not your battery if you can start your car.

if your a newbie, save ur self the time from doing it your self and just go to the dealer. Otherwise check your fuses ( look in the manual ) and it wont be ur battery like someone said because ur car wouldn't start.

Update

ok update everyone i brought it to the dealer and they had my car for 2 days and replaced my whole gauge cluster under warranty for free. everything works again, but now however my mileage was reset to 0. does anyone know the legality of this if i plan on selling my car in the future and the odometer isnt accurate ? is there any way that i can calibrate the odometer to the correct # ? i asked the dealer but they said no. thoughts ?

Uhhh if its under warrenty then the dealer should fix your meilage as part of the repair. Someone correct me if im worng? Also if the odo is not right it will make your car "salvaged" title. So there goes your resale value

I would go back and bitch untill they do fix it. If not you should be able to take it to a speedo shop and they could sort it out.

i asked them about it and they said they couldnt do anything about recalibrating it. they just said they have records of the mileage before bringing it in so theyll add it to my current mileage. blah
