Alt light question
Alt light question
I have an alternator light that just came on and stays on unless you rev the motor to about 4000 rpm's. If you keep it above 2000 rpm's it stays out. Is this just a bad alternator or is this some other problem? The car has about 69000 miles on it.
Any help is appreciated.

more then likely your alternator is failing. Take your car over to autozone and have them do an alternator output test for you for free. This will tell you weather or not your alternator is doing its job. Also check all of your connections at the alternator.
Now when the light comes on, does the car end up dieing or stalling after several minutes?

I would go get the charging system checked first, and if that checks out fine, according to the manaul you may have a problem with the multiplex control unit as it controls the indicator lights. Also have the battery tested.
