Cel
Cel
Hi everyone,
Ever since I installed my TSI turbokit, I have had this CEL for "system voltage high." I can't remember what the number was, but I wondered if anyone else had this problem, and what they did to fix it.
Also, is there a way to turn off the Maint. Req'd light that comes on every 10,000 miles or so without going into the dealer?
Thanks,
Zach

you should consider yourself lucky I dont close this thread. There are so many threads on the maintenence required light and a sticky at the top fo this forum. So search for the answer. I wont lock it because of your check engine light issue
Also we need specifics on the check engine light. Saying system high voltage describes alot of the codes in the manaul. Most of them either state system high or system low voltage depending on the actual system fault (or what component). So find out the 5 digit trouble code and we can go from there.

Alright, well I read the ODBII codes from my CEL, and they are the following:
P0563
P0134
P2770
P0977
P0962
P0966
This can't be a good thing, but I don't know what to do about them that won't cost a fortune. Any help would be appreciated.

that's alot of codes.. here's what my DTC program says they are..
P0563 - System Voltage High
P0134 - o2 Sensor CKT No Activity (Bank1 Sensor1)
P2770 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit High
P0977 - Shift Solenoid B Control Circuit High
P0962 - Pressure Control Solenoid A Control Circuit Low
P0966 - Pressure Control Solenoid B Control Circuit Low
i'm not too familiar with any of these things, perhaps someone else could chime in. Good luck.

its really hard to say if when you installed the turbo kit if that had something to do with all the codes, or if you generally have problems. but what I would recommend is for you to reset the ECU and then see if those codes come back up. After you reset the ECU, turn the car off for a few minutes, then turn the ignition switch to the II position and see if any are still there. Or drive it around for a bit and see if the light comes back on.
I can guide you through all of the diagnosis of all the codes, or if you want, PM craigW and see if he can email you all the pages for the diagnosis to those codes. He also has a copy of the manaul, but has access to a scanner and can do all that. I dont have a scanner, so I cant do it. I can just start writing the instructions on how to test them.

I have reset it and it went away for the next good amount of miles. However, once I turned the car off, the next time I turned it on, they all came back. I have no idea what's wrong with it. I'll try PMing craigW, but if you could help me out too that would be awesome.
Thanks,
Zach
