P1519 Idle Air Control Valve Circuit Failure
I drove 170 miles roundtrip last weekend. The morning after I received the check engine light and noticed that my acceleration wasn't smooth. My last oil change was 5000 miles ago (synethic).
So I took it to Firestone tire today and got a oil change. They reset the check engine light for me and told me that it was probably due to my aftermarket parts. But I only have a axle back exhaust.
Anyways, the check engine light hasn't come on again and the acceleration seems back to normal somewhat. Was it because of the oil change? Has anyone dealt with engine code P1519?

yes. go buy a can of spray cleaner for throttle bodies and a cotton rag. Spray the rag well and wipe around the sides of the tb by opening the valve with the black lever. Clean as far down as possible. Then spray a little bit on the valve hinges. It dries fast, so keep spraying the rag as you wipe.

that code doesnt have anything to do with the throttle body so I think cleaning it isnt going to do anything. Now if they reset the code and it hasnt come back, you may have had an intermitent failure. Probably just a glitch in the IAC itself. The first thing in the manaul says to reset it and recheck for the code. If it isnt there, it was a intermittent failure. Just make sure all your connections are good at the IAC.
Most shops will try and tell you it has to do with aftermarket parts because most of those shops have techs who really have no idea whats going on. Now firestone usually has those kinds of people with general auto experience, and a few ASE master techs, but the ones who dont know whats going on usually are the ones who clear the codes.
