Rust and salt problem
I own a 7th gen 02 Civic ex sadan that I want to moddify a little.... But first I need to replace the nuts and bolts that are rusted under the hood. I just bought it like in June. I had to take it to the dealership I got it from.. so they can fix the air filter box. I found that the nuts and bolts are rusted tight so I can't get in to my air filter to replace it. So they are going to brake it off and put a new air filter box thingy lol. I guess the guy that owned him before lived somewhere where its cold because most of the nuts and bolts are rusted tight and it has like that salt to melt the snow with..all around the engine and shiznit. I'm trying to figure out how I can get that crud off..have any ideas? I have replaced some of the bolts that I could take off, but the ones I can't take off I'm putting that rust eater on it. Maybe if I buy liquid wrench I could take em off.

Carburetor? Wow.... I don't even know what to say about that one
ANYWAYS, where do you live? One (two at most) drive in the rain should take care of most of it.. I live in Wisconsin so I'm an expert at what salt does to a vehicle.. They shouldn't be rusted yet. My civic's been through three winters and none of the bolts are rusted yet. The only rust I've noticed is a little surface rust on my brake drums. And any impact gun should be able to get the rusted bolts off.. and if not, use some penetration oil.

I live here in Albuquerque,NM where it snows like once a year lol.
When it snows it all melts away by noon lol! so theres no salt here, unless you live in Santa Fe...they have that red salt all over lol.
My poor car has dark rust on the nuts and bolts and even on the callipers...I don't know what that guy did to it

Urbana Illinois where its usually 100% humidity. After it rains, the next morning there is a visible layer of rust on the brake rotors even.
I would think that if you soaked them in wd40 for long enough and used an impact gun, they would come off, but the shop should have tried that before resorting to breaking/grinding them off.
Did you know they put fragrances in wd40, and its formula is top secret?
