interesting idle problem

ok so i got home last night and when i pulled the handbrake and was in N, the engine started reving itself.. maybe up to about 3 or 4 rpm.. i gased it a bit and it stopped.. this morning i had to go do a job.. on my way my idle kept dropping really low.. to like 400 or so.. and other times it would bounce up and down if i was in N or with the clutch all the way. Now it was raining here for a few days .. and i installed my new projector lights... im thinking maybe water got into one of the connections, since the connections are not nearly as good as oem headlights. Would an electrical problem or short cause this idle problem? also when i start up the car ive noticed the mant req'd light flashes a little long then normal .. my oil seems a bit low, ill top it up.. no i dont have a warrenty on this car.. and wouldnt like to be raped in repair bill.. what the hell is wrong with my baby .. *sob *sob

warm up the car by driving it. turn off. Open the hood, look in the fuse box for the FI ECU fuse and pull it out. The manual tells you which one. Put it back in after a few secs and start the car. Make sure all accessories are off and that the gas isn't being pressed. Leave the car in park at idle for 10 mins. Turn car off. Turn on and go drive it. That should make the ecu learn the idle again. If it still does it, come back and I'll tell you more.

or just disconnect the battery for about 1-2 minutes and that would also reset it

well when it rains hard here, i get a terrible squeaking from the belts. so yea it can cause problems especially if there's an open wire that the water is grounding out. I had some bad connection and my alarm siren wouldn't work in the rain either.

im thinking about just wrapping electrical tape around the plug for the projectors, seeing how it doesnt get covered by a rubber gromet like the OEM ones.. hopefully that will resolve my issue. That is the only thing that ive installed before this happened, and this the first time its really rained since they were done.. seems to make sense.. ill keep you all posted as to if this happens again. Also off topic .. when i hook up my halo rings.. so that they are on when im driving during the day.. which wires do i hook them up too ? .. io have a red and black coming out of the projector itself, any help would be perfectly awesome

um do you want them on ALL THE TIME when the car is on, or just when you have parking lights on. If you want them to turn on when the radio does, just wire the power and ground to the 12v socket plug inside the car. If you want them to come on with parking lights, wire the power and ground to the small parking light in the headlight. I'm assuming red is power and black is ground, but you may have to switch em. Just use the battery to test it before you hook em up. Put one wire on + side and one on - side.
