Coolant splatter when filling reservoir
Coolant splatter when filling reservoir
When I was topping off the coolant today, some of the coolant splattered on the fans and on other metal parts and rubber hoses in the lower left quadrant of the engine compartment.
The darn funnel I used was just slightly too small and I had to hold the bottle of coolant in a awkward position.
Anyways, I wiped some of it off with a paper towel but the metal parts it landed on, I did not touch yet since the parts were hot. The coolant sizzled when it landed on the metal parts.
Im planning on wiping the rest of it up tomorrow when the car is cooled down.
Will the coolant cause any damage to the parts it splattered on?

no it wont cause any damage. You really dont even need to worry about wiping it up, by the time you start driving, the heat from the engine bay and the air under the hood will dry it up.

Yeah, the car is fine, be careful if you have any animals like dogs or anything, coolant is VERY toxic to animals (and humans). A teaspoon can kill a 50lb dog.
