okay, first i did read the DIY on this one. my problem is that with my alarm or the button inside the car, the driver's side door lock doesn't lock or unlock EVER. the other side works fine. really annoying! it actually has done this a few times, the the problem disappears for a few months, then reappears. when alarm is disconnected, still same crap. i put my ear up to the door and can hear the actuator trying to work (i think). has anyone else had this happen. all i can thin kis that something is binding somehow. wtf? please email me if you know about this or hjave figured it out, or any suggestions. i don't want to replace the door lock assembly if i don't have to! all the linkage seems to be connected etc.

remove the door panel and inspect everything. and then listen for the actuator. Most likely that is your problem. Really easy to fix.

yeah i fixed it with the part from majestic. thanks a lot streetglower! my old actuator worked kind of, but didnt travel enough or was too weak to operate the lock. new one works perfect though!

same thing was happening to my brothers 1.6 el, we took it to audioheaven they popped in a new acuator and the door opens faster then all the other ones now.
