Top speed?

I have been reading thru some threads and some people talk about their vics hitting speeds of 130 to 150. My 2002 lx sedan cuts out at 116.How did they do that?

Well... ya take one car.

Add a teenager,
One pinch of "invincibility thinking"
A very, very long straight road,
and Two tablespoons of BULLSHIT....

and you got it !

Even if one makes a civic is somehow capable of 130, doesn't mean they should be doing it. Tiny tires, stock suspension, and potholes are another recipie... for disaster.

Now, if you're completely modded out, lowered, and are running around a NASCAR track or something... sure, I can see it.

I had mine to 124 bone stock on Interstate 75 one morning. Its straight across the state of florida through the Everglades, you know, where Value Jet crashed years ago. My car is a 03 ex coupe 5speed. At that time it still had the stock shitstones on it. However I would like to know if the car has some type of limiter on it though, does anyone know it they do?

omg this topic has been discussed to death. and auto will top out well before a 5-speed. an ex 5-speed will hit 130mph. it can't go over that because of the ecu. just liek a dx or lx will not go past 115 or something like that. but depending on your wheel/tire setup it could read diffrently on the spedo. ask s2000man01. he has said this about 19838764821 times.

someone please lock this.

My bad, I have been on this forum for a few months now and never saw this topic til now, dident know it was such a soar subject! The only thing my car will pass is a gas station, I was supprised when I got past 100 I can understand why people get mad when others ask how much hp will a intake give you, thats a stupid question, everyone knows it will give you like 50 extra hp! Thats why every one has one, why waste your money on a nitrus kit or a nice turbo setup when you can can get a filter on a tube on ebay for 15.99 shipped!

well, i have had my moms ex (97) to 123 or 117 , something like that and my old civic dx wiht a new ecu up to 124, and my old b18 csetup to 148 without nitrous...

i dont see why any civic with around 95+whp cant hit 120...
the oly thing i see in your sway is the rev limiter....going from 110 to 120mph doesnt seem like much but its probly 10-12whp......

and going from 130-140 your talking about probly 20+whp.....

but to hit 120 shouldnt be hard. and i dont see why you cant if an ex hits 130..... even though i have yet to see that on an accurate speedo...

Civic_RedLine will become famous soon enough
my ex can go above 130 whoever said 130 isnt accurate, mine speedometer can hit 130 easy then struggles after but doesnt hit the limiter. Im going to film going that fast but I have to have a friend doing it which will probably add more weight being slower.

My HX is governed at somewhere around 112-114 and then it cuts off the fuel pump. Really sucks when I'm trying to chase down a porsche on the unrestricted speed limit portions of the Autobahn.
