05 problems??
I friend has a 05 ES2 auto. She said Honda mailed her a letter saying that those vics need 91+ octane. DId anyone else get this? And they also mailed her a new owners manual, claiming the old one was incomplete.... I asked her to show the letter to me next week..... but it's odd..... 91+ octane on a stock vic.... that makes the vic a bit less economical.
i would think that the car can run fine on regular but i guess the new 05 cant take advantage of higher octane and make more power off of it. the ex does have higher compression than the other trims

ES2 is an EX sedan. it should require 91+...... thats 9.5 or whatever is hardly her compression by today's stanards... and pretty much everyone here agrees 91+ is a bit of a waste unless youve done some heavy mods.

If its a stock engine stick with 87 octane. Even with 89 octane your wasting your hard earned money. I thought 01-05 engines were all the same??? no??
It would not make a difference if you drive an 01 or an 05, its the same engine.

Honda would never mail anything like that for an econobox Civic.
Even if there is proof of a letter, it would still obviously be a mistake, or a fake.
