i told my friend to keep hers under vtec, to shift before 3k, and she has been getting good results, usually 28+mpg, give that a try.
a lot of times, those milage are also determined by driving styles

I'll take a stab at this. EPA city for the civic auto is 32 mpg I believe. EPA test is done with the A/C off.
If you have the A/C on then you'll get less.
If you drive more agressive than my grandma, then you'll get less.
If you have wider tires than stock, you'll get less.
Your sub's, amps, and all the audio adds lots of weight. You'll get even less.
The amount of drag put on the alternator to power your audio system. Well.., you get the idea.
Realistically speaking, I think you are getting normal gas mileage for what you have. You can always confirm this by reverting back to all stock and compare.

lol that's nice. It's not a problem. Some civics just get crappy mileage. I always keep mine like new. I get like 20mpg city and one time I got 38 highway. You should measure it with all highway miles that's the only way to tell if something's wrong.

Has nothing to do with flooring. I drive under 4k hardly ever giving more that 50% throttle to get that 20mpg. I once got...yes... 15mpg when I drove it hard and took a reading at 1/2 talk.

reset computer DIY: ITS IN YOUR FRIGGIN OWNERS MANUAL. Disconnect battery, let sit, reconnect, let sit at idle for approx. 10 mins with all accessories off. After 10 minutes, drive in a variety of different roads with low to medium acceleration.

That is so weird. I drive between 3 and 4 k all the time. I wonder if shifting too early could increase gas consumption due to lugging the engine? I can't imagine how gearbox could possibly get such low mileage. Honda motors are designed to rev higher to make any power at all. You may want to drive it under 3k all the time, but then the plugs will foul a lot faster. I have yet to hit 37mpg, though. Mine stays pretty steady at about 32. You'd think with all the advances in automotive tech, and an all aluminum motor, we should be getting into the 60's by now.
