70mph and the shocks break!

70mph and the shocks break!
I was driving down the road and hit a good sized bump and both of my koni yellw shocks broke. the snap ring that holds the perch up broke and the car hit the ground. ***. now I am looking for a set of shocks that are good. any kind but Koni's please here are the pics

Its not the shock that is the problem, you hit a "Good Sized Bump", and that can have damaging effects, bent rims, blown tire, BLOWN SHOCKS. I dont think there is a better shock out there then konis for our car. You just need to be careful when you drive.
if there was a "bump" that big in the road, i would talk to the dmv about paying for the damage. a bump in a road shouldn't cause you suspension to break. we pay taxes for safe roads. unless the "bump" is your excuse and you really jumped a median or something

Your perch doesnt look like its installed right.. it looks upside down. If this is true then thats why they failed. The newer perches from Koni have a groove cut in them that trap the snap ring in the perch so it cant move. Also, they carry perches that are specifically designed for Ground Controls. I'd call up Koni and hopefully they'll send you the right parts. Theyre pretty cool if your cool with them.
