Its not the shock that is the problem, you hit a "Good Sized Bump", and that can have damaging effects, bent rims, blown tire, BLOWN SHOCKS. I dont think there is a better shock out there then konis for our car. You just need to be careful when you drive.

if there was a "bump" that big in the road, i would talk to the dmv about paying for the damage. a bump in a road shouldn't cause you suspension to break. we pay taxes for safe roads. unless the "bump" is your excuse and you really jumped a median or something

yes a bump in the road can cause your shocks to blow. If the bump is big enough, you can blow your shocks. I guarentee you the city or whoever wont pay.

It's also possible your Konis weren't properly installed. Go back to stock if you're so worried about this happening again, our car came with GREAT quality struts ;-)

Going 70 mph, hit a bumb! And now you complain about your broken shock? Be realistic! You are lucky you didn't break anything else!

Your perch doesnt look like its installed right.. it looks upside down. If this is true then thats why they failed. The newer perches from Koni have a groove cut in them that trap the snap ring in the perch so it cant move. Also, they carry perches that are specifically designed for Ground Controls. I'd call up Koni and hopefully they'll send you the right parts. Theyre pretty cool if your cool with them.
