Should I be worried....

I have an 05' 2 door civic vp. i've only had it for 3 months. well lately my car has had trouble starting. well i really wouldn't say trouble, it just takes a couple of seconds longer to start, then when i first got it. so, should I worry about this or just ignore it.

Take it down to the dealer. Your warranty should cover it.

Where do you live? If its cold where you live it could be from that...I know mine takes like 2 extra cranks before it turns over in the cold.

The other day it was about 5F out when I tried to start my car, it turned over for about 2 second before it started. Today it's about 30F and it started fine, maybe it's just the cold.

my sister has an04 lx and it did the same thing in the first 2k miles after that it started to work fine she has like 5k on hers right now and everytime it starts out fine

i would say wait a little more untill u put more miles on your car then if if keeps happening take it to the dealer to get it cheked out

btw: i live in florida so i dont think is the cold weather my best guess is that the starter is just "too new"

yeah, If you live in a cold/snowy area you might need a better battery. One with lot of cold cranking amps.

It says in your manual that ignition may take longer then other cars, it's because of the ULEV.

I live in Guam. its usually hot here. but recently its been cold. we're getting some cold winds from the north east of us ( japan). I guess i'll sit on it for a while. but thanx for the info.

Oh does any body here know how to remove gum off without scratching the paint. some a-hole threw his gum out while I was behind him. didn't think much of it. until the next morning walk out and thought someone keyed my car. it stretches from the front to the driver side door.

desler on the starter, try to remove the gum with your fingernail. Gas might work, but it'll probably screw up the paint. you may try wd40, then afterwards wash the car really good.
