car giving off smell

car giving off smell

i drove really fast by my friend the other day and he said that when i went by he noticed a kind of burning gas smell. this only happens when i really push the car. my mods include CAI,cat-back exhaust,header, and chip. does anyone know why i'm getting this smell?

Pushing a car causes excess heat to build up. I remember my friend driving an older civic really hard and it would always have a burning smell afterward. I bet you're just running a bit rich. Is your exhaust tip all black? I think your car just needs some a/f tuning. When you push it hard with a rich air fuel mixture, it's common to smell gasoline.
