Problems.....
I have an 03 EX auto, and I am having some sort of problem with it. It doesn't get into overdrive veryoften cause I an stationed on a very small island. When I travel up hill and it is wound out for a while it starts to act up on me. It will start to lose power and hesitate, if I hit the gas it will knock and ping really bad. I can't understand it. Does anyone know what it might be? Sorry, it has been a while since I have been in here.

You should turn your overdrive off unless you're on a highway. If you're in OD going up a hill the transmission should down shift automatically but it sounds like yours isn't. Sometimes automatics can't sence a load change and will stay in a higher gear even though it should be in a lower gear, and sometimes you really have to stab the throttle so the trans will downshift automatically. Its basically like have a manual trans in 5th gear going up a hill, the engine will bog down until you down shift into a lower gear. Next time you're driving up a hill and the engine starts to knock and ping, shift it manually into the next lower gear.
The problem isn't that it is staying in overdrive. It is still in third gear! I am thinking something is heating up and making the car freak. I talked to a mechanic today and he thinks it might be this crap fuel we have here. I will find out next week, I am going to hook it up to a computer.
