Cold air intakes hate the cold!?
Anyone else here think their cold air intake hates winter? Lately, since it's gotten really cold around here, in the mornings i've had to let my car warm up for a few minutes before driving otherwise the car jumps like crazy when changing gears. Never did that before in the cold with the stock airbox. I always thought the colder the air, the better, now i'm starting to think that's wrong.

Isn't that better? I have a short ram and it always pulls harder in the cold. It jumps because of all the extra air coming in. I thought that would be a good thing to have.

nah.. i dont think they hate it.. all cars hate the cold to begin with.. just like people.. when its cold out oil and stuff gets thick.. and now that more cold air is getting in its gunna take a few moments longer to warm up..
just let it warm up for a minute or two.. then drive it easy for a bit and everything will be ok

^^^ He's going through hot flashes right now.. LOL, most likley Eternal Again is correct, you just need to give your car a lil warmup =)
my turbo hates winter. I swear....as soon as it got really cold out it would start to fear the boost. Runs like a champ til like 5000 then just jumps off it. It was warm out for a weekend....acted normal. Stupid civic has a mind of its own.
