Heater doesn't work???

Hi guys. Okay, 02 Civic EX with a manual trans. My heat no longer works. I haven't the slightest clue as to where to begin. I will check fuses after work, but other than that, what could it possibly be?

does you engine get warm or does it stay at the cool level. if thats the case then you have to replace your thermostat.

ride your car real hard and see if you get heat, if so, try adding some coolant

seems like the car should warm up enough to get heat to you. turn off the circulate, and the a/c button, and turn it to heat. Should get all the engine heat. Thats what I do most the time when it gets cold. Saves gas and some people say it helps with HP. Takeing heat out of the engine bay, and into the car? not sure about that, but it should be hot anyways. Check your fluids like maiden said.

mm... dont expect any heat to come until the temp needles goes up atleast past the "c". Try driving for atleast 5 minutes. Also, I didnt know the heater needed a fuse. If you really want to feel the heat, as maiden4ever said, drive it hard and you'll get so much heat you would want to shut it off.

another way to tell if you need more coolant, assuming your car is somewhat stock....just let it idle and if it heats up semi quick that also means more coolant

neat. i forgot about all these problems. i used to have them with my 190kmi 1986 integra. 55k miles later on the civic, im starting to have them.

i was driving very hard last nite on my way up to Cecil County Dragway to meet a member. all the way up I-95, i was averaging about 100mph. i had the AC off, vent open, and heat on blast, but no heat was coming in, it little or none.

When I get home, I will check my coolant levels and maybe the thermostat, but I doubt thats the problem because my car doesnt overheat or anything. The temp gauge is always between 1/4 and 1/2 way.

make sure you have no air in your cooling system. if you do this could cause abnormalities in the way your heatercore produces heat. remember to check for coolant level when the radiator fans are running. if they are not turn on; your ac. they will turn on shortly after. this give you true coolant levels

Does it blow air out? If so then your heater blower is fine and it could be something wrong with your heater core. If you dont feel any air coming out it could be a bad blower. Or you could have a bad or clogged heater core if you feel air blowing but its not hot.
