Honda has a problem with these transmisions. My girlfriends car was poping out of second/fifth, grinding going into second. They rebuilt it no charge. Print out the TBS and take it with you just in case they try to pin it on you.

I'm having the same problem but its my second gear. But its not that bad yet. Honda told me they can't do anything about it unless it happens during a test ride and when I left it for 2 days nothing happened. What a waste of time!!! Hope things work out.

I also gotta take my car to the dealer for tranny problems, but the thing is I'm lowered, and I don't want them to say that's what caused the problem.

I had problems with my tranny on my 02, it was a problem with the 2nd gear in the tranny, and was covered under warranty up here in Canada.

If you go around a corner in second gear real slow do you get a grinding? If so, it should be under warranty. This is the way I showed Honda up here that I was not imagining this problem.

I know there are all kinds of tranny problems but since they rebuilt my tranny no problems at all.

Hope this may help some of you out.

I have no problems at all with mine. maybe its the way you guys drive your cars. You can't drive them hard all the time and expect them not to break.

Good god, for 1/4 of that you can get you a tranny from a wrecked civic in a junkyard, with a few good friends and a lot of beer have it swapped out and on the road again in no time.
