Scraped Rim - Help!
Hey guys I just got my '04 EX Civic.
Um... ok, well, I was going about 40 in a neighborhood and my friend told me to turn so I pushed down the brakes, it was pretty harsh, I felt the ABS kick in for a few seconds, and then... I didn't cut the turn sharp enough and I scraped my front right rim against the curb...
I took a look at the damage and it's basically scratches on the stock rim. The tirewalls were also all white from the curb. I sprayed it down with a hose and now the tires are OK. However, the one rim, it has scratches on two of the five... spoke things in the rim design. I was wondering what can I do to repair this -- I'd really like to try to do this by myself 'cause I really don't want my parents to know. Also, a very small section, maybe 4 inches, of the front right of the bumper is also scraped.
What should I do about these scrapes? The bumper one is unnoticeable and the rim looks fine from far until you take a second look, it looks like the two parts are whiter than the rim.
I'd really appreciate any help, thanks so much guys.

You can't fix it without buying another rim. Its a machined rim, you took those machining lines and smashed the **** out of them. Next time don't do stupid **** in neighborhoods.

well you could try getting emery cloth(sandpaper for metal) and sand down(like your sanding down wood) that one part of the scratch. cuz i did this too cept with my 15" rota slips(there in bronze). and now its smooth like it never happed! and all i need to do is get someone to touch up that part or either repaint it. here is a pic(more pics coming soon cuz i need to post more of that one rim, gonna trade it for some gsr blades):
its the bottom rim
its the bottom rim
I just have one question, would that emery cloth work on my stock rim? The machined lines are scraped away, and underneath I see the gray part of the rim. If I used that emery cloth on it, what would happen?
And just in case, does anyone know where I can get just ONE (1) of the stock 2004 EX rims?
[edit]
Also, for the bumper, what should I do about that? One of my friends has the black paint from Honda, should i just buff out the scratch and repaint it?
[/edit]
Thanks a lot.

Sorry the pictures are so big, my camera just takes them like that. And I didn't have time to resize them.

One of the two scrapes on the rim, the other one looks the same.

And this is the part of the bumper that got scraped.
Input is GREATLY appreciated. Anything about that emery cloth?

DAYUM!!!! well for your bumper i think color sanding wont happen with that! your gonna have to either get it repainted by a body shop or do some ghetto *** style work on that(if you wanna be cheap)
well concerning your rim........................(taking a second look at it)..............
well id say try it on the lip of the rim(the part of the rim where it is closest to the tire) and if it starts to get smooth do the emry cloth to the rest of the lip of the rim with the curb damage... and the scratches on the spoke of the rim....i dont really know how thats gonna turn out with emry cloth. lemme just ask someone about this who showed me how to do the emry cloth thing. ill ask him if you can do the emry cloth on the spok on that big of a scrathc.
so ill get back to you later on that.
EDIT
oh yea and i wouldnt suggest using the emry cloth on the bumper(emry cloth only used on metals)

for the pumper (my dad did the same thing to my car), if you dont have the $$ to spend, just get some touch up paint.... Although it wont match completely, atleast you can hide it from your parents. Good luck!
a little off topic, you said you didnt cut the turn sharp enough so you scraped? Were you making a left turn or right turn? If it's right, then youre cutting it a little too close. <= )

Was makin' a left turn, and yeah one of my friend's said that he got some paint from his Honda dealer and we both have black cars, so I hope that'll be ok.
And I'm probably gonna get the rim off of eBay or something...
