Dealer tryin to screw me HELP!!!
So my alternator fuse (#4) keeps blowing when I drive my car. It kills the alternator, speedometer, and cruise controll. So far it has only happened at highway speeds (50-70mph). I have just over 30,000 miles on it. Warranty goes till 36,000 miles. Honda didn't find out what was wrong with it the first time the looked at it. They are supposed to look at it again today, but they are trying to blame it one me and are saying it will cost alot of money for the guy to track down the problem. They guy at Honda was like, well you have aftermarket headlights and you took your dash pod out to put the carbon fiber in there. You probably pinched a wire. I knew they would try to blame it on me. I know its not the headlights and I know I didn't pinch a wire putting the dash pod back in. What do I do? I want to make sure they don't stiff me with a huge bill.
Highly doubt it was your fault, take it to another Honda dealer "OR" take it to a place that will diagnose it for free. Then you can say, well, since it is this, then I will take it to the dealer since it is covered under warranty, get my drift?
So I called the dealer and they said it was fixed and covered under warranty. I went to pick my car up and they gave me a bill for $173. I put an aftermarket downpipe on the car and it moved the sensor wires and they rubbed through and shorted on the subframe. $173 for them to wrap some electrical tape around the wires. If I only knew!!!!!
