imobilizer problem

Hi everyone, my elderly mother has a 2001 civic and has imobilizer issues. Honda changed her imobilizer once already and now the second one is not working. The car is just out of warranty but I notified the dealer that she was having problems with the second unit before the warranty was up. Hopefully they will do something for her. She lives 200 miles from the honda dealer and her car won't start. She lives on a pension and cannot afford to get the car towed. The honda mechanic told me of the code by pressing the brake pedal, I have tried it and it doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the car started so that it can be driven to the dealer.

Just have it removed it it's causing that much trouble. It doesn't help anyway if someone tries to steal it.

The mechanic told me that it probably cannot be removed and I don't know what caused the first one to fail, I don't think honda knows why it failed.

atl01 will become famous soon enough
if you remove it than the car will not start at all. Try pulling the ECU fuse and leave it out for abou 5 or 10 mins and just let everything reset itself.
